Philip Woolfson, Director
Prior to becoming partner at Tuchbands in 1996, Philip ran his own chartered accountancy practice in London for five years. He also held senior positions at leading accounting firms such as Ernst & Young.
A highly experienced and dynamic accountant, Philip has handled accounts and taxation for a wide range of industries, from property investment through to the fashion industry.
Having witnessed significant changes in the financial market since he qualified 40 years ago, Philip’s experience, combined with his extensive expertise in accounting and tax matters, has helped hundreds of businesses to thrive in both rising and falling markets.
Prioritising the client’s success above all, Philip’s aim is to ‘maximise your wealth and enhance your business’ by advising on key strategies such as profit improvement, tax saving and helping extract profits from your business in the most efficient manner.
Kalpesh Shah, Partner
Kalpesh joined Tuchbands in May 2013 and he was appointed as partner in May 2014. Prior to joining Tuchbands, Kalpesh has held senior management positions in several leading accountancy firms in London.
Kalpesh is a chartered accountant and a financial consultant with a broad range of finance skills and over 25 years of experience. He possesses strong commercial acumen and expertise in corporate governance, systems and compliance. He also helps form innovative business strategy.
As a highly experienced auditor with strong analytical skills and risk based approach to implement effective systems, Kalpesh identifies and controls both financial and non-financial key performance indicators in order to monitor performance and control procedures.
Kalpesh is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Kalpesh also has a Masters Degree in Accounting and Finance.
Kalpesh considers himself to me more than just the average chartered accountant. His broader skills and experience includes:
- Consultant acting in as FD and Technical consultant and also specialises in providing business coaching and mentoring to directors and senior management of businesses on matters of change management, risk assessment and corporate governance.
- Assisted many SME’s to facilitate transformation as they grow from local businesses to international presence
- Identified financial reporting requirements and accounting requirements for several SME’s and implemented software and systems (including controls) to meet these requirements. Following the implementation, provide training and support to ensure smooth running of new systems and phase out of old parallel systems.
Nick Poli, Consultant
Originally employed as a trainee accountant under the expert stewardship of Norman Tuchband, Nick was appointed to Partner in 1985. With more than 30 years’ experience in the accounting sector, Nick has successfully helped a broad range of owner-managed businesses and individuals achieve tax savings and profit growth in a variety of market conditions.
A firm believer in the fact that most people want to spend as little time and effort as possible dealing with accounts, Nick places great importance on getting to know his clients’ businesses. This not only allows him to provide the best money saving advice available, but also enables you to get on with the day-to-day running of your business.
